Tom Holland still doesn’t know if he will play Spider-Man again after Spider-Man: No Way Home, a 2021 feature, which ended – temporarily, for now – the character’s participation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At a press conference for the Critics Choice Association, the actor said he is talking about the possibility of reincarnating Spider-Man in the future, but nothing is set in stone: “All I can say is that we are engaged in conversations about what could be a fourth chapter of my character. Whether or not we find a way to honour him is another story”, he declared [via Collider ].

“I’m very protective of Spider-Man and I feel honoured to be able to work on a franchise that has improved with each film, which I think is rare. So, I’m not going to make another film just for the sake of it. It needs to be worth it for the character”, added the actor.

Tom Holland debuted as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Since then, he has starred in three solo films – Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Return Home (2021) -, in addition to having participated in the last two Avengers films, Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
